Junior Club

Young Fincs began in 2014 when our very own Fincy, Alison Hart was approached by London Sport, Barnet Partnership for School Sports & Middlesex County Netball as there was very little provision for young people in The Borough of Barnet.  We were given the opportunity and funding to set up the club thanks to London Sport having initiated a revitalised grant funding stream for new Youth Satellite Clubs.

Young Fincs is open to girls from the age of 8-16 and we train on Monday evenings at Woodhouse College, North Finchley from 6-8pm

We have two squads entered in The North London Netball League and play every other Saturday at Broomfield Park, although it is not essential to play competitively, girls are welcome to come along and train.

Netball is a great opportunity for youngsters to not only develop fitness and new skills, but to make firm friends and engage in a sport that encourages teamwork and personal development.  Alison is particularly wonderful at nurturing youngsters and helping them to achieve individual goals, as well as guiding teams to steady success.

London Youth Games

We were lucky enough to manage the Barnet team for The London Youth Games Year 9 and Under Netball Tournament in July 2016.

Our final squad of 12 girls were from 10 different schools in the borough and ranged from year 7-9.  They only had a short amount of time to get to know each other and get used to playing together, but after an amazing experience the girls finished 9th, Barnet’s highest ranking position in the tournament to date!

We every much hope to be involved in 2017, we’ll certainly keep you posted.
